Avautuma

Kirjoitin aikaisemmin parista ilmaisesta open source -verkkolehdestä. JusSin OOo-blogista bongasin TUX-lehden, joka toteaa olevansa “the first and only magazine for the new Linux user”. TUX oli aikaisemmin kokonaan ilmainen, mutta muuttui loppuvuodesta 2006 maksulliseksi.

Valitettavasti lehden maksullisia tilaajia ei kertynyt tarpeeksi ja TUXin tekeminen lopetettiin kokonaan. Joulukuun 2006 numero jää ainakin toistaiseksi viimeiseksi.

I am sorry to inform our readers that Issue 20 of TUX was the last monthly PDF produced. While we have received an amazing amount of positive feedback about the magazine, the financial reality of the situation made it impossible for us to continue publishing TUX. Current revenues didn’t cover current costs, much less allow us to expand the publication as we wished.
